Keanu Reeves says “We’re trying” for a new BILL AND TED
Earlier this morning, while flipping through my Google Reader, my eyes grazed across the words "BILL AND TED" and "WERNER HERZOG TO DIRECT." I laughed at the poor intern who was tricked into writing what I was quick to write off at a rumor, and resumed my business. Now, later the same day, I find myself writing the same story with hard evidence that it is in fact true. The Werner Herzog bit turned out to be a joke, but the news is no less unbelievable: Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are "in talks" for a new BILL AND TED.
Ladies and gentlemen, you have just witnessed the peak of my journalistic career.
Courtesy of MTV, ever on the cutting edge of movie news, check out the video below. Note my personal favorite moment when Sad Keanu refers to Richard Linklater simply as "The Linklater."
All save the last 45 seconds, Reeves appears to be serious about attempting a third installment of the late 80's favorite. Insisting that the film has to be able to "stand on its own" the actor says the he "seek to entertain, and if that could be something that could be worth while on it's own..."
Despite the absolute ludicrousness of the idea, I could actually see this happening.
