Keira Knightley has confirmed what we pretty much already knew, she will not be reprising the roll of Elizabeth Swann in the upcoming PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN movie. When asked about it, this is what Knightley told Moviefone:

“It was a completely fantastic experience, and it was an amazingly large portion of my life, but I don’t think I need to go there again. I think that it’s done. But I’m very excited to see the next one. And he is so wonderful in that character. I think it’ll be wonderful.”

This is probably a smart move for Knightley, since the quality of the PIRATES movies has decreased with each sequel, but I’m not counting her out just yet. I’m sure the studio is gonna throw a pile of money her way in an attempt to bring her back. And why shouldn’t she come back? It’s not like she’s in danger of being know as “that chick from that one movie.” She has a strong career on her hands. If I was her, I’d take the movie and run.
