Kevin Williamson wants to make you SCREAM again
That's right, folks. I have more bad news (or good depending on how you look at it) from the land of Holly on today's popular topic of remakes/reboots/sequels. It would seem that writer/director Kevin Williamson is working on not one, not two, but three films to reboot his once popular SCREAM franchise. The trilogy calls for a bringing back and reintroducing of original characters from the series, including Courtney Cox Arquette and David Arquette, who have already been approached to star. No word yet on Neve Campbell's possible involvement. Something tells me these actors may find a way to clear their busy acting schedule to do this one.
Are there really any original characters left other than those three? I mean didn't most of everyone else have a TV thrown on their head or get crushed in a garage door or get stabbed in the brain via glory hole?
What are your thoughts on this? Does this even have the slightest potential to be good? Do you even care? The first film was fairly regarded for returning audiences to the slasher genre while being self-aware in its' horror mythos. But its ship may have sailed long ago. Or perhaps this is just what we need to re-jump start a genre that is downtrodden with torture porn.
