Kristen Wiig is part of what many feel is the strongest Saturday Night Live cast since the early '90s, and has been in a surprising number of movies since her SNL debut. Life after SNL probably won't be too bad for her, because she is about to add starring role to her resume.

The film I'm speaking of was once known as BRIDESMAIDS (which was co-written by Wiig) is the story of two friends who try to plan their best friends wedding party. Hijinks ensue, I'm sure. The film will also be produced by Judd Apatow, and is the only film he is producing to be made this year.

Additionally, they have found a director to helm the project. The film will be directed by Paul Feig who has most recently been directing episodes of The Office.

Wiig has a lot of future projects coming out, such as the animated feature HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's PAUL, Steve Carrell's DATE NIGHT, and the SNL film MACGRUBER. Wiig is going to be pretty prominent in comedies this year, and possibly next year if she pulls off this starring role.
