Kyra Sedgwick joins DIBBUK BOX
Talk about getting put on a fast track.
Just a few days after being announced, the upcoming Ole Bornedal film, DIBBUK BOX, not only has a Halloween release date, but has a brand new cast member.
Deadline is reporting that the upcoming film, which is slated to star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, will also star Kyra Sedgwick. She will play one half of a divorced couple (with Morgan) “whose youngest child becomes strangely attached to an antique wooden box purchased at a yard sale. The girl’s behavior becomes erratic and her divorced parents get the carvings on the box deciphered and find the box contains a spirit bent on devouring its human host.”
Despite the relatively silly and uninteresting premise, the film does have a really interesting director attached in Bornedal, so hopefully this one can get past sounding like a straight-to-video type horror project, and actually be worth its weight in celluloid. The addition of Sedgwick definitely adds a bit of class to this project, so here’s to hoping.
The film hits theaters on October 28.
