Sure, his follow up to the much loved Marion Cotillard-starrer, LA VIE EN ROSE, may in fact be heading straight-to-video (a film entitled MY OWN LOVE SONG), but director Olivier Dahan apparently can still pull in quite the project.

According to Tout Le Cine (via The Playlist), the director will be helming a new ensemble film, starring Jose Garcia, Gad Elmaleh, Ramzy Bedia, Fanck Dubosc, Omar Sy, Joey Starr, and Jean-Pierre Marielle, entitled LES SEIGNEURS.

A soccer comedy, the film follows a “former footballer living in Brittany who enlists his former teammates to train up the local fisherman to win some games to help save jobs” (weird translation, forgive us).

Currently set for an April 11, 2012 release, the film is apparently speeding up towards production, and sounds like quite an interesting project. Personally, I’m not all that intrigued by the film’s premise, but I am quite a fan of Dahan as a filmmaker, and this cast is quite solid. Dahan should give this premise an interesting spin, so hopefully this is one that we’ll get to actually see come 2012.
