As part of the Los Angeles Film Festival, late summer release DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK is getting a special slot as the Closing Night Film. You know what that means - time to start unleashing some fun, new marketing materials in advance of the festival and the film's August 26 release.

Written and produced by Guillermo del Toro, DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK, starsKatie Holmes, Guy Pearce, and Bailee Madison, and is directed by Troy Nixey. "Based on the 1973 telefilm that del Toro believes is the scariest TV production ever made, the story follows Sally (Madison), a young girl who moves to Rhode Island to live with her father (Pearce) and his new girlfriend (Holmes) in the 19th-century mansion they are restoring. While exploring the house, Sally starts to hear voices coming from creatures in the basement whose hidden agenda is to claim her as one of their own."  Sound scary? Check out the full, retro-styled poster after the break.

DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK will show at the LAFF on June 26.
