Lena Dunham, Charlene Yi, and more join KNOCKED UP spin-off
With the film’s start date looming, the cast for Judd Apatow’s upcoming KNOCKED UP spin-off, a.k.a. THIS IS FORTY as it has become known as, is slowly pulling itself together.
Already seeing both Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd reprising their roles, Variety is reporting that Chris O’Dowd, Charlene Yi, Wyatt Russell, and Lena Dunham have joined the film’s cast.
The film will follow the relationship between Debbie and Pete (Mann and Rudd respectively), five years following KNOCKED UP. Megan Fox and Albert Brooks are also along for the ride here, and personally, I really can’t help but be absolutely sold on this project.
Dunham is the real star of this crew, as if her turn in her film TINY FURNITURE is to be believed, she is one hell of an acting talent. O’Dowd is also a fantastic addition to the cast here, primarily after seeing him in such things as this year’s BRIDESMAIDS, where he very much stole the show. Yi is not a shocking addition, as she was part of the first film’s cast, and Russell is an unproven talent, who will next be seen in COWBOYS & ALIENS.
Overall, while I wasn’t huge on the first film, I do think that the idea of seeing these two characters following that film’s events could be quite interesting. What do you think?
