Lena Headey joining DREDD?
I guess Judge Dredd’s return to the big screen just got a little more interesting.
According to Judge Dredd Movie News (via Bleeding Cool), Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles star Lena Headey has joined the upcoming franchise reboot, DREDD, as the film’s main baddie, Madeline Madrigal.
Ma-Ma as she is known, rules the Peach Tree City Block of Mega City One, which is the location of much of the upcoming film according to reports. Comparing itself to DIE HARD, the film stars Karl Urban and will be helmed by Pete Travis. Color me intrigued.
Personally, while I’m not a huge fan of the franchise, I do have a bit of hope for this project. Headey is a fantastic actress, and Urban is definitely an entertaining actor to watch chew up some scenery. Headey hasn’t been confirmed yet for the film’s villain, but it definitely does bode well for the hotly talked about franchise reboot.
Headey will next be seen in HBO’s Game Of Thrones series, where she looks great, yet again. More on this as it comes.
