Leonardo DiCaprio may take no PRISONERS
The kid is on a thriller kick right now, that's for sure. Hot off SHUTTER ISLAND, and with INCEPTION due out July of this year, Leo is looking at yet another thriller as a potential next project.
The film is called PRISONERS and it centers around a Regular Joe/small town carpenter who puts his hands to good use after his daughter and her friend are kidnapped. The script from first-timer Aaron Guzikowski was on 2009's Black List, which compiles the best unmade films from the year. Antoine Fuqua was at one point set to direct but has since dropped out of the project.
Seems that PRISONERS finally got around to impressing enough people to get made as Alcon Entertainment's Andrew Kosove said this in relation to his recent purchase, “In the 12 years we’ve run this company, this is the most interesting, morally complex thriller we’ve ever gotten, and we can’t wait to make the movie,”
It is thought that DiCaprio will likely make another film prior to PRISONERS, should they find a director the selective actor is satisfied with.
