Lionsgate developing CUBE 3D

Lionsgate is currently developing a CUBE 3D project. That's right, the genius 1997 film directed by Vincenzo Natali (SPLICE) could be getting a reboot or another sequel and hopefully not another prequel. It's still unclear what direction Lionsgate wants to go with CUBE 3d, other than well-making it in 3D.
The original CUBE is about a group of strangers who wake up inside a series of cubes connected together that sometimes contain deadly traps. They have to outwit the maze and make it out alive. The film set the stage for the SAW films, and did so in a much more refined, intelligent way. Of course after the original CUBE came CUBE²:HYPERCUBE, the not so great sequel, and then the equally not as great prequel, CUBE ZERO.
Typically when it comes to films I love, I'm on the "please do not remake this" side of the fence, but honestly, I'm psyched about this. I'm a huge fan of CUBE, and think that seeing a reboot could be really interesting.
What do all the other CUBE fans think of the news?
