LITTLE FOCKERS gets a trailer that has everything you’re expecting

One of the biggest surprise comedies of 2000 was Jay Roach's MEET THE PARENTS. Roach is known for doing pretty silly comedies, with films in his repetoire ranging from AUSTIN POWERS to BORAT. But MEET THE PARENTS was something pretty different. It was relatively down to earth, had a great cast, and delivered solid laughs. It also appealed to a large range of people, young and old alike. I know a solid comedy when my dad and I can quote the movie ten years later and still laugh.

MEET THE FOCKERS wasn't quite as well received, as people ragged on it for using a lot of the same jokes and gags. I didn't hate it as much as the critical establishment, but I'll be the first to admit it wasn't as great as its predecessor. And yet, the sequel garnered a massive $279,000 box office. Which means it wasn't much of a surprise when we heard news of a third installment. Hit the jump for the trailer as well as my thoughts on our first real look at this sequel.

What can I say? If you liked the first movie, laughed at the second one, and were excited to see this cast back together to do a third movie, you probably laughed as much as I did. Sure, there's a  few recycled jokes in there but De Niro and Stiller have such chemistry together that I could watch them rehash old gags for at least another movie. Perhaps the second movie was a little tired simply because the two protagonists, as well as the audience, were being introduced to parents again. This movie feels a bit fresher because of the addition of kids to the mix.

You can be sure to catch some of these antics at a theater near you, on December 22.

    Wow! $279,000 dollars! What a flop! ;-p

Just watched Meet the Fockers again last month since some friends hadnt seen it…it is definitely a lot more LCD humor than the first. This looks like even more of the same so I'm sure it will be even more successful.
