After its screenplay made a huge splash in Hollywood, penned by now A-list writer Allen Loeb, news surrounding the long-gestating THE ONLY LIVING BOY IN NEW YORK has been relatively small.

Well, now it appears as though it has found quite a bit of momentum.

Deadline is reporting that Logan Lerman has been tapped to star in the upcoming project, slated to be directed by HORRIBLE BOSSES helmer Seth Gordon. The film is expected to go into production this fall, and will follow a young man who “learns that his overbearing father is having an affair. The son tries to stop it, only to become involved with the woman as well. With advice from a questionable quirky neighbor, the young man learns about love.”

As mentioned above, the Loeb screenplay has become quite a talked-about piece of writing, and is yet another project in the ever-growing slate for Lerman, who will next be seen in films like THE THREE MUSKETEERS and THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER. Personally, I think that this sounds like a really intriguing project, and based on the buzz surrounding the project, it appears to fit that bill perfectly.
