Director Louis Leterrier

While his last film, the stunningly dreadful piece of cinema known as CLASH OF THE TITANS, was far from the most beloved film around, director Louis Leterrier can still apparently draw quite the interesting project now and then.

THR has revealed that the director will helm the upcoming sci-fi tentpole, G, for Universal. The film’s premise is staying under strict lock and key, it’s apparently drawn comparisons to films like THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW and TAKEN. I know, quite the classic material to draw from.

Joking aside, the film itself sounds compelling, as far as silly comparisons can sound. Leterrier is no slouch in the director’s chair, so while CLASH may not have been the strongest film, he’s still very much a really intriguing action filmmaker. The idea of him taking on a sci-fi project, with producers Guymon Casaday, Mark Gordon, George Nolfi, and Michael Hackett producing the film, quite a compelling venture.

However, without a screenplay, or even a writer, the film still seems quite a ways off. That said, expect a lot of news soon on this film, as it will apparently follow the heist film NOW YOU SEE ME as the director’s next film.
