Louis Morneau taking on WEREWOLF for Universal
Universal is coming out of the gate hot, with the hopes of wiping the slate clean on one of their biggest flops in quite some time.
A while back, it was revealed that Universal was hard at work on a film entitled WEREWOLF, that would, for all intents and purposes, be yet another reboot of their WOLF MAN franchise, as the film allegedly shared quite some attributes with that franchise. Coming just a year after the release of their last film in that franchise, the reboot THE WOLFMAN, Universal has now found a director for the brand new project.
Moviehole has revealed that Louis Morneau, best known for films like CARNOSAUR 2 and JOY RIDE 2: DEAD AHEAD, will be taking the leap into the big leagues and will be directing this project. Now, this is interesting for a few reasons.
Personally, I actually really like the choice. Given the right team to come aboard for effects, Morneau’s experience with B-movies and jump scares could be really interesting and a perfect fit for his film. Universal will be getting a director experienced in horror films, and one that will also basically move heaven and earth to appease them. Hell, at least this won’t be another Joe Johnston film, and I think (despite how good CAPTAIN AMERICA looks) we can all be thankful for that.
