Madonna’s W.E. getting classical score thanks to William Orbit and Abel Korzeniowski
Say what you will about her first feature, FILTH & WISDOM, but Madonna’s second attempt at feature film directing, the upcoming W.E., is definitely turning heads.
Featuring a cast including the likes of Abbie Cornish, Oscar Isaac, Andrea Riseborough, and James D’Arcy, the film is slowly set to make its way out into the ether sometime this year, and apparently, it will feature one hell of a musical score as well.
According to The Daily Mail (via Ace Showbiz), Madonna is set to work with both William Orbit (who produced her Ray Of Light album, as well as A SINGLE MAN composer Abel Korzeniowski, on the film’s score. Korzeniowski confirmed on his Twitter account a few weeks ago apparently (to absolutely no discussion), so while the Mail may not be the most beloved tabloid, there appears to be a lot of truth to this story.
With the film set to hit sometime this fall (reportedly), this may not be the most anticipated film of the year, but with this crew behind the score, it definitely adds the intrigue.
The film will follow the story of the affair between King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, as well as a parallel story of a woman having romantic issues of her own making, so up to this point, this is definitely a film that could be just the type of project Madonna needs to prove herself as a filmmaker.
