Malkovich replaces Reilly in RED
John C. Reilly will no longer be a part of the action thriller RED, leaving a vacancy for his supporting role that has already been filled by John Malkovich. Both men are well-skilled actors with a good amount of awesomeness, and Malkovich might even have a slightly larger supply of awesome (I have seen CON AIR, so I can suggest this). So this really isn't bad news, even though Reilly is great.
RED is based on a three-issue comic book about a retired CIA agent, Paul Moses, an expert in killing that is forced to fight for his life when an assassin shows up at his home and intends to kill him. In the comics, the hit is ordered by the new director of the CIA when he finds out what Moses use to did for them, in order to make sure the details of Paul's duties never get out to the public.
Bruce Willis will be playing Paul Moses. Morgan Freeman and Helen Mirren also have parts in the film. Yes, that is a very talented cast, and thankfully Reilly was replaced by a guy that won't be bringing the talent level down.
