Coming on the heels of the release of the film’s first trailer just a week or so ago, a very interesting detail about the upcoming remake of ARTHUR has come to light.

While at the Shockwave NME Awards (hat tip to both The Mirror for the interview and The Playlist for digging it up), DJ/producer Mark Ronson revealed that he is currently working on wrapping up the score for the film, which stars Russell Brand, Helen Mirren, Greta Gerwig, and Jennifer Garner.

Best known for tracks like “Valerie” and “Stop Me,” Ronson isn’t the most popular name in the states, but he is definitely an interesting choice for composer for the film.

At this point, ARTHUR doesn’t look like it will be the champion of the 2011 comedy world, but with the addition of a great DJ/producer like Ronson scoring the film, it’s definitely a bit more intriguing. It’s also interesting to continue to see DJ/producers jump into film scores. Look at what Daft Punk did with TRON: LEGACY, and the Chemical Brothers seem to have knocked HANNA out of the ballpark, so hopefully this one follows suit.
