Coming hot off the heels of their buzz-building Super Bowl TV spot, Marvel has decided to strike while the iron is hot, and has, according to reports, jumped into sequel mode for their beloved patriarch.

That’s right, according to Latino Review, Marvel has hired Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus to write the script for the upcoming sequel to CAPTAIN AMERICA. These two were also the creative team behind the first CAPTAIN AMERICA film, which hits on July 22.

Now, while it remains to be seen just how good the film, or their script for CAPTAIN AMERICA is for that matter, this definitely is an intriguing concept. We haven’t heard much in the way for a sequel to THOR, so it doesn’t appear like there is too much going on behind the scenes with regards to that franchise.

Personally, it’s hard for me to get excited about a CAP sequel without knowing where the character goes in both CAPTAIN AMERICA as well as THE AVENGERS. Both will have a ton of say in my anticipation for a sequel, but at this point, why not?The trailer looked great, so until I’m turned off by what I see, I’ll be down for more time spent with Steve Rogers.
