Zoo Cameron Crowe

Cameron Crowe hasn't been a part of the cinematic landscape for sometime now. His last film, ELIZABETHTOWN (2005) was a box office flop, even if it was critically appreciated in certain factions of the reviewing populous. But now, the man who brought up SAY ANYTHING and ALMOST FAMOUS is making his comeback with an adaptation of WE BOUGHT A ZOO, based off a book with the same name. We reported the news of his involvement a while back. Now, according to Variety, Matt Damon has joined the film. So, is Crowe fucking Matt Damon? Find out more after the break...

The book by author Benjamin Mee centers around a father who buys a zoo in hopes of reviving his darkened spirits. His family joins in and then animals appear and everything is great. Imagine it sort of like Noah's Ark except instead of an ark its a zoo and instead of rain and God motivating the actions of the main character, its depression. Count me in! Especially since Crowe is one of the generation defining directors and could really use a career comeback. Damon hasn't taken on a non action-centric role in awhile either, so it'll be nice to see him playing something more down-to-earth.

WE BOUGHT A ZOO is set to release December 23rd, 2011. Interested or not? Leave your thoughts below!
