I think it's fairly obvious that we here at G and the W are big fans of the works of North Carolina School of Art alumni Danny McBride, Jody Hill, and David Gordon Green. Back in December we reported with great enthusiasm over the founding of Rough House Pictures and its two year development deal with Mandate Pictures, and today we have a bit of news for you regarding Rough House's first film.

According to Variety, McBride will star in L.A.P.I. an action comedy to be directed by Hill. Most details of the film are being kept under wraps, but it is known that McBride will play a "beaten down, hardboiled" private investigator.

Though the film will star McBride, it is important to note that the film will not be written by the collaborative team of Hill and McBride. The film will be written by Michael Diliberti and Matthew Sullivan, who had two films on 2009's Black List and are currently working on a remake of BREWSTER'S MILLIONS.

No word when this film will go into production yet.  But we'll defintely keep you posted.
