Meryl Streep joins GREAT HOPE SPRINGS
Over the past few months, one of the most talked about projects that has had trouble truly finding its footing trying to make its way into production is the drama GREAT HOPE SPRINGS.
With a lead male role that has seen A-listers like Jeff Bridges, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and James Gandolfini interested in the project, one of the constant names is on the female side of the cast. Since its inception, Meryl Streep has been attached, and now, Deadline is reporting that it is finally a done deal.
Streep is in final talks to join the film, which will see her reteam with DEVIL WEARS PRADA director David Frankel. GREAT HOPE SPRINGS follows “a couple that hits the rocks after 30 years of marriage and hangs their future on an intense counseling weekend.”
Penned by Vanessa Taylor, I really like the premise surrounding this project, and with a cast that is spearheaded by Streep, this is one film that really sounds like a winner. Expect a lot more news on this project soon, as this one appears to finally be making its way to a start date.
