Methuselah hits the big screen
"What I wanted was to come up with an adrenalized thriller that has a bit of intelligence and resonance," said James Watkins to Daily Variety. So where do you think Watkins looked for an action story guaranteed to keep audience members on the edge of their seats? The Bible of course. I have long thought it strange that so few Biblical movies are made considering it being the bestselling book of all time. Not to mention the countless stories that promise to capture the hearts and minds of anyone who reads.
James Watkins who last directed EDEN LAKE must have figured this out seeing that he will be directing a movie based upon the life of Methuselah. Methuselah is the man who has and forever will hold the record for living the most years on this Earth: 969 years. He was born with the gift from God to age extremely slowly, giving him the opportunity to become a mighty and skillful warrior as well as extremely wise. I am extremely interested in the development of this "elevated action thriller", and I hope it is able to capitalize on the richness of opportunity this story provides.
