MGM to re-animate and re-vitalize with PUNK FARM
MGM hasn't made an animated film since 1989's ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN, but the studio - most recently known not for its films but for its financial woes - is getting back into the animated animals game with an adaptation of the popular children's book Punk Farm.
David Silverman (THE SIMPSONS MOVIE) will direct a script from David Stern (The Simpsons), who came on board to rewrite Jim Hecht's (ICE AGE: THE MELTDOWN) draft of the CG animated film. From author Jarrett Krosoczka, Punk Farm tells of a group of farm animals that form "an underground rock band, perform a punk cover of "Old MacDonald had a Farm" while Farmer Joe is asleep."
The first book was published in 2005, with its sequel Punk Farm on Tour hitting shelves two years later. Check out Punk Farm's punk rock redo of "Old MacDonald had a Farm" HERE and their thrashing cover of "The Wheel's on the Van" from on Tour HERE.
