Michael Andrews scoring FIVE YEAR ENGAGEMENT
Not known for having the best scores around, it looks like a romance comedy may be prepared to have exactly one of those.
Film Music Reporter is, well, reporting (via The Playlist), that composer Michael Andrews is set to pen the score for the upcoming film, FIVE YEAR ENGAGEMENT. ENGAGEMENT, a film drawing comparisons to classics like ANNIE HALL or WHEN HARRY MET SALLY, will star Jason Segel, Emily Blunt, Alison Brie, Chris Pratt, Kevin Hart, Lauren Weedman, Mindy Kaling, Chris Parnell, and Jacki Weaver.
Story-wise, the film will follow a relationship between a couple, Segel and Blunt, prior to their wedding. It shoots next month.
As a fan of Andrews, particularly his work on films like YOU, ME AND EVERYONE WE KNOW and this year’s hit BRIDESMAIDS, this is really great news. He will next be heard behind BAD TEACHER, and the upcoming Duplass brothers film, JEFF WHO LIVES AT HOME, so it appears as though Andrews is something of a hot commodity around the film world. Here’s to hoping that doesn’t change.
