Awhile back we informed you all that Darren Aronofsky's next project would be the supernatural ballet film, BLACK SWAN, HERE. The film centers on a ballet dancer, played by Natalie Portman, who is “locked in to a competitive showdown with a rival dancer, with the stakes and twists increasing as the dancers approach a big performance.” The twist is that Portman's character isn't sure who, or what, her rival is; it's either an apparition, a ghost, or a figment of her imagination.

Now we learn that Mila Kunis, who last charmed audiences with her likable role in FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL and is soon to be seen in Mike Judge's EXTRACT, will be starring opposite Portman as the rival supernatural dancer. This is interesting casting news, and I am continually intrigued by this project each time a little nugget of information, like this one, surfaces. BLACK SWAN is still making its rounds at studios, looking for a home, but rumor is Fox Searchlight is interested in distribution. This film is planned to begin shooting in New York City some time this fall.
