Mill Valley Film Fest hits the home stretch
It’s been a wild ride for this year’s Mill Valley Film Festival but alas, the end is near. Last night, the festival, which is in its thirty-second year, welcomed Oscar nominated JUNO director Jason Reitman to town with a tribute in his honor. Career highlights were shown, as was his already Oscar buzzed film UP IN THE AIR, which stars George Clooney.
Tonight, Woody Harrelson will participate in an onstage conversation about his career, and will be presented the MVFF award. Following the screening of THE MESSENGER, Harrelson will be joined by director/co-writer Oren Moverman for a Q&A with the audience. But wait…there’s more!
Sunday night, the 32nd Mill Valley Film Festival comes to a dramatic close with two incredible films - Ken Loach’s LOOKING FOR ERIC and another Oscar buzzed film, THE YOUNG VICTORIA, which stars Emily Blunt as young Queen Victoria. After the films, the closing night party takes place on a California Hornblower Cruise around the San Francisco Bay.
There are also all sorts of screenings and panels going on between now and Sunday, so if you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area, check out what is clearly one of the best film festivals going today.
