UPDATE: Now Enos' right hand man, her fellow cop on The Killing, Joel Kinnaman, has joined a new film.  THR is reporting that he has joined the cast of SAFE HOUSE.  If you haven't seen the show, really, watch it.  A lot of fantastic talent on there.

Apparently Paramount loves The Killing as much as critics do.

Deadline is reporting that star of the absolutely fantastic rookie AMC noir drama, Mireille Enos, is in talks to join the cast of the studio’s upcoming film, WORLD WAR Z, an adaptation of the beloved Max Brooks novel.

The actress will take on the role of Karin Lane, wife of Gerard Lane, the role currently attached to Brad Pitt.  The film follows “the aftermath of a global zombie war 10 years after the conflict, with a researcher for the UN Postwar Commission interviewing survivors in countries that were decimated by flesh eaters.”

Paramount has been trying to really figure out what the hell their plans are with regards to this film, particularly since it has a budget of $125 million.  That said, with this casting, things do really appear to be moving forward for the film, which has seen Matt Carnahan adapt.

As a really big fan of The Killing, I absolutely love this news.  Enos is great in the show, one that itself is a fantastic piece of television.  She is really great at giving a lot of depth to the show, and is simply a great actress in her own right.  Toss her alongside Pitt, and you have a duo that you really just can’t go wrong with.
