Mondo’s director’s series: Olly Moss designs prints for Duncan Jones’ MOON and SOURCE CODE
Olly Moss is quickly becoming one of the premiere film print artists in the world. His trilogy of STAR WARS prints are going for astronomical prices on eBay, and he continues his collaboration with Mondo by releasing prints for MOON and SOURCE CODE. Check them out after the break.
The Alamo Drafthouse’s collectible art boutique has started a director's series of film prints, beginning with Guillermo del Toro late last year. Duncan Jones has been tapped as the next director for the series and Olly Moss handled the print design for both of Jones’ films. Jones had this to say about Moss:
"I've been a huge fan of Mr. Moss since I first saw his mock game manual for Half Life what feels like an age ago. I've been desperate to own one of his pieces ever since. Getting that piece to be based on my films is even better!"
Both prints measure 18” by 24” and cost $35. SOURCE CODE is an edition of 200, while 250 MOON prints will be made. If history is any indication, the prints will be available at the SOURCE CODE premiere and leftovers will be sold on Mondo’s website shortly after.
Duncan Jones first made a splash in 2009 with his magnificent debut, MOON, and his new film will make its highly anticipated premiere as the opening night film of the SXSW Film Festival.
As a huge fan of both Moss and Jones, I’m very excited to see the prints turn out so well. Make sure to follow Mondo on Twitter for a release date announcement.
