Morgan Spurlock sets up first narrative project to shoot this summer

Joshua Brunsting

April 9th, 2012

Shockingly, while all of his films have garnered quite a bit of success be it from audiences or critics, director and documentary star Morgan Spurlock has yet to break out and jump into the world of narrative feature filmmaking. That’s all about to change.

Spurlock  revealed that he’s currently working on getting a film ready to shoot this summer, with the help of Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way shingle. Revealing that it’s “very ERIN BROCKOVICH-ish” with “a little teeth to it”. Sounds interesting.

Personally, while I’m not huge on films like SUPERSIZE ME or WHERE IN THE WORLD IS OSAMA BIN LADEN, I do have a lot of respect for Spurlock as a documentarian and a fan of documentary films.  In a very quick and brief search, nothing really came up with regards to what project this could really be. Appian Way and its bunk mate Warner Brothers’ slate is up in the air at the moment and a director is not yet at the helm.  An announcement should be on its way soon, however.

What do you think?
