Apparently Shawn Levy and Fox are quite the married couple.

Just hours after the director was attached to the studio’s upcoming remake of THE FANTASTIC VOYAGE, and days after the studio picked up an action/adventure pitch with Levy attached to direct, THR has revealed that Levy will produce yet another project for the studio.

The outlet is reporting that Levy will be producing a Twentieth Century Fox Animation adaptation of Roger Hargreaves’ book series, Mr. Men.

No writer or director have been attached to the film as of yet. There are 48 books in the series that feature the tales of such amazingly named characters as Mr. Tickle, Mr. Happy, and Mr. Greedy.  The franchise has seen four animated TV series created based around the books.

Personally, I’m not all that familiar with the books, but it is interesting to see just how in love Fox seems to be with Levy.  Either they expect his next film, REAL STEEL, to do gangbusters, or they see something in the film we the public have yet to notice, because they seem to really be sparking quite a friendship. I think this could ultimately spawn a really cool film, but it remains to be seen just what to expect from a film with these books as a source.
