Teen Wolf Jersey Shore

Remember when MTV used to stand for Music Television? Nowadays MTV is less about the music and more about the culture. The culture of drunk frat kids listening to Jay Z and throwing up in their parents million dollar pools. However, according to Variety, things are about to change over at MTV with the arrival of some familiar '80s movie property. Teen Wolf: The Series has finally been greenlit and is headed to TV screens everywhere (thanks to the folks over at MTV). Looks like they'll have to change their acronym's meaning to "Monstrous Teenage Violence". Check out more details after the jump...

This is not the first time we've heard the howl of a Teen Wolf series, almost a year ago news first broke on the project and folks could only dream of the shenanigans in store for the series' development. And just a few months ago we were given full details on the casting of your favorite characters. Now, Teen Wolf the series is finally greenlit and the series will film its first 12 episodes this summer. Liz Gateley had this to say about the project...

"We loved the concept of the original film and knew the title had a great hook. The creative challenge was to take that title and reinvent it as a horror series for the MTV audience"

Well now, it certainly sounds like she loves the...title. The meat and bones of the film are not what's really important. But, damn, that title is absolutely hilarious! I mean, teen and wolf?! That's just priceless. Plus, there is nothing that would be a better lead-in for Jersey Shore and The Real World than a teenage wolf tearing his shirt off and eating his drama teacher while dealing with his first kiss and the basketball playoffs. It's truly a match made in...heaven?
