Must Watch: Trailer for AMC’s “Hell On Wheels” is all kinds of Western goodness
Is there anything that sounds like a better fit than AMC and a Western TV series? As if you needed any other reason to get jazzed for the idea of that combo finally come to fruition, the current king of broadcast TV has released the first trailer (hat tip to /Film) for their upcoming Western series, Hell On Wheels. And it’s an absolute winner.
The series is set during the creation of the Transcontinental Railroad, and follows the story of a man, on the hunt for revenge against those who took the life of his wife.
Starring Anson Mount, the cast also includes Dominique McElligott, Common Colm Meaney, Ben Esler, Eddie Spears and Philip Burke, the show is AMC’s latest step forward in their domination of the world of event television.
Now, while it’s tough to really get super stoked for a Western series in a post-Deadwood world, the footage that we’ve seen from the show so far looks absolutely amazing. Featuring a great sense of style and aesthetic, the show really seems to be following in the channel’s long line of great TV, including things like Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Walking Dead, and now The Killing. Simply put, this thing looks damn good.
