Neil Marshall bringing together World War II and aliens for new film
With his long-talked about adaptation of the British cop drama, The Professionals, looking to part ways with the director, Neil Marshall hasn’t wasted much time getting back on the hunt for a brand new project.
In an interview with Live For Films (via The Playlist), Marshall revealed that he’s currently writing a “World War II alien invasion movie,” that while he’s currently at work on it, likely won’t be the director’s next. Having his name attached to films like UNDERGROUND and BURST, the director will next be seen as a producer on Axelle Carolyn’s THE HAUNTED, so while he may not be taking on PROFESSIONALS, his plate is still very much full.
Personally, I love the idea of Marshall taking on an alien invasion, WWII period film, simply because it sounds something truly steeped in genre, something Marshall is the king of at this point. However, films like BURST and UNDERGROUND both sound really compelling, so while he may not get to this for some time, it won’t be due to uninteresting projects taking priority.
