New clip from A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET gets lost in the supermarket

The mall. The supermarket. My 12th birthday party at the bowling alley. All are scary places when completely empty. Which is exactly what Nancy Thompson (Rooney Mara) learns in the new clip- "All I Have To Do Is Dream"- from the upcoming A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET remake. And after seeing this clip, I have a feeling that there is going to be a need for a clean-up on aisle 5.

A lot of new and old horror fans alike seem to be pretty on the fence when it comes to their expectations on this remake of the horror classic. It is this writer's opinion that, from what I've seen, the remake looks like it captures the truly horrific essence of the '84 film while leaving behind a lot of the cooky Freddy Krueger character traits that ultimately killed the franchise for me. We won't even discuss the travesty that was 1994's NEW NIGHTMARE.

I guess we shall find out on April 30th when the film hits theaters. Hopefully it's not a flat out bore fest...I would hate to fall asleep in the theater! Check out the exclusive clip courtesy of Yahoo! Movies after the jump.
