New DVD and Blu-ray of YELLOW SUBMARINE hits stores in May

It’s about damn time.

Being one of the most difficult and expensive home video releases to hunt down, the long out-of-print animated masterpiece, YELLOW SUBMARINE, will finally have a new DVD and Blu-ray set for release this May. Thanks to Apple Records, the soundtrack will also be reissued!

The film has been restored, frame by frame, and will surely be one of the hotter commodities when it hits on May 28.

As a massive fan of both the band and this film in particular, I couldn’t be more excited.  It’s always been a film that I’ve wanted to re-watch, but it was damn near impossible to find, unless you’ve got some cash to fork over for the VHS. It’s one of the most entertaining and original pieces of animation that the film world has to offer, so hopefully this new transfer has done it justice.

What do you think?
