New four minute preview of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN hints at something big, brooding, and special

While the world itself may be looking forward to a film like THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, arguably the biggest question mark of this summer season is Marc Webb’s reboot of the beloved SPIDER-MAN film franchise.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans, the film bows on July 3, and unlike Nolan’s upcoming franchise capper, remains as a relative unknown entity, given the cast and crew assembled here. However, what we have seen so far looks damn good.

We got a new, four minute long, extended look at the film, and while it does use snippets of footage that we’ve already seen, it also gives us a great glimpse into a few of the seemingly huge set pieces that will hopefully fill the film’s runtime. I love the look and feel of what director Marc Webb has done here; he has really stepped up his game from something like (500) DAYS OF SUMMER, which was (admittedly) visually inspired but night and day when compared to this really epic-looking superhero drama.
