Talk about creepy.

Arguably the most talked about aspect of the most talked about recent Super Bowl TV spot was the hyper-brief glimpse at CAPTAIN AMERICA’s main villain, Red Skull. Brief as it was, the glimpse was really great, and looked genuinely striking and well-crafted for such a weird character to bring to the big screen.

Well, thanks to EW, we have a much better look at the character, and I must say, it really looks great.

Now, this is simply a set photo, so the makeup does appear a little rough, and when compared to the photo from the TV spot, the photo looks a tad incomplete. There are likely going to be a few effects on the face, since this really does look like a bunch of makeup.

However, it conceptually looks absolutely fantastic. I love the route they are going with this character, one that is easily laughable on screen. As a whole, I think CAPTAIN AMERICA is going to be a real shocker come later this summer. Hugo Weaving as Red Skull is perfect casting, so all in all, I couldn’t be more excited for this thing.

I agree with you about Hugo Weaving. I thought the greatest roll of his life was as V and it was behind a mask. I knew this was a good idea the second I saw the casting.
