PREDATORS has been on my radar for a while. First we heard that Robert Rodriguez, one of the great pioneers of nineties' independent cinema, would be producing the project. Then, we had a slew of actors, ranging from Laurence Fishburne to Adrien Brody, sign on with director Nimrod Antal. Then, the trailer.

And what a trailer it was. If anyone was doubting the project after the addition of an amazing cast and an up-and-coming director, they sure weren't after that. Now, thanks to First Showing, we've got a short featurette that has some unseen footage and a few nice tidbits to heighten that anticipation. Check it out after the jump.

First off, the new footage with Danny Trejo is far from revealing, but still awesome. Looks like he'll have a rough charm to him, which I didn't expect because of his cute and adorable exterior. But I think the best part about this featurette is the amazing chemistry between Antal and Rodriguez. Both of them appear natural in front of the camera and feed off each other really well.

Why is this important for two people who are traditionally behind the camera? It illustrates their collaborative ability. Oftentimes, producers and directors are at odds. The former's goal is financial recuperation and the latter's goal is traditionally an artistic endeavor. Instead, these two appear to have the same goal in mind - making a kick-ass PREDATOR movie. Seeing the trailer, as well as this featurette, leaves me thinking they've done it.

I guess we'll see on July 7, when PREDATORS hits theaters everywhere.
