New Sherlock Holmes production stills

The Brothers Warner have released two new production stills from Guy Ritchie's revamping of SHERLOCK HOLMES. The film stars Robert Downey Jr. as the famed sleuth with Jude Law filling in as his side kick, Dr. John Watson. SHERLOCK HOLMES is set for release November 20th, 2009.

Knowing Ritchie's gritty style and off-kilter humor, I think this film is going to be sheer perfection. Especially with a side helping of RDJ's wit and sarcasm. And based on the first photo alone, it is apparent that this is not the Sherlock Holmes everyone is used to. I would go out on a limb and say this is the first time in the story's history that Sherlock Holmes has had abs. Unless of course you count when Wishbone epitomized the character in Episode 7: The Slobbery Hound. See photos after the jump!

I'm placing my bet right now that the phrase "No shit, Sherlock" will be said at least one time in this film. Any takers?

I really hope its cleverly done though.

    “Is that chocolate?”

    “No…shit, Sherlock.”

This film is going to kick all kinds of ass. It is Ritchie’s post divorce phase, which is when people go crazy and cut loose and “find out who they really are.” This film is to Ritchie as a new sexy wardrobe and a 23 year old boyfriend is to a newly divorced woman.

He will fully earn his man card back on this one. After SWEPT AWAY, I started to call him Girl Ritchie. It is nice to see that he’s putting the guy back in Guy Ritchie. REVOLVER and ROCKNROLLA helped in that also.
