The news of another new TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE film came out a while back, when Twisted Pictures (the sickos behind the SAW franchise) picked up the rights to the series. It wasn’t too long before Twisted Pictures started setting up their most advanced trap yet, a 3D TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE film. This extremely advanced engineering marvel of death is still chugging along, but now with new writers.

Adam Marcus and Debra Sullivan are working on their version of the script, which is said to take place 35 years after the original film. In fact, they are wanting it to pick up immediately after the end of the original film, then flash forward into present day. The film isn’t supposed to have anything to do with the remakes of a couple years ago, thankfully.

Although Twisted Pictures is full of brilliant engineers that must have gone to MIT or something, they haven’t really won me over with their movies (the first SAW aside). It will be interesting to see how they will work my misdeeds of the past into this new film, and ultimately make me learn my lesson through insurmountable amounts of pain.

We can only hope that having a new studio brings new ideas and more creativity to the series, not another cheap 3D horror film. Please surprise us all Twisted Pictures, you crafty pain bestowers.
