New THOR photo, now with biceps and hammer!

The publicizing of a film is a fine, calculated science, especially with something as largely hyped as THOR. Photos and trailers must be dispensed delicately and at the perfect moment. Keeping the fans waiting too long is never good, but over saturation just leads boredom from your audience. THOR is being handled with the latter, and expect even more information and pictures; with no other ultra-nerdy headliners for this festival, THOR will be drawing most of the attention at Comic Con.

Hit the jump for the photo!

While this is obvious, I am still finding it hard to remain patientwhile waiting for some real material from THOR. It's like waiting for the new FAST AND FURIOUS movie and not seeing any cars. SHOW ME THE CARS, PEOPLE! Having said that, the new photo for THOR is probably in my favorites of all the material released. Check out the photo, courtesy of USA Today.

THOR. This epic adventure spans the Marvel Universe; from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth. (IMDB)

Here we see Hemsworth's pulling the mighty Hammer of Mjolnir out from...well, to be honest, we're not quite sure what that is. Some sort of rock stand, but details on its significance are, so far, unclear.

Speaking to the his confidence towards the film, Marvel's Kevin Feige told USA today that, "Nobody believed in us when we brought IRON MAN here. They said we were bringing our B-team in. I think we've proved that there's no such thing. If you can impress Comic-Con fans, you're in the big leagues."

You are indeed correct, Mr. Feige, but we (the Comic-Con fans) are not yet impressed. Show us the cars, Marvel. Show us the cars! We need to revel in this Norse legend; in all of his might! Wielding hammers and lightning! Comic-Con is here, so hopefully director Kenneth Branagh and his crew have the spectacle we've all been waiting for.

If you haven't already seen them, check out GATW's coverage of all previous THOR material here, here and here if you want to see some Captain America work as well.
