If there is one thing you can be certain of, the FINAL DESTINATION franchise sure knows how to end its characters lives in the most interesting of ways.

And now, thanks to Coming Soon, we have a new trailer for the upcoming FINAL DESTINATION 5, and we also have a whole set of new kills to be grossed out by, or in the case of a few, to laugh gingerly at while we peer through our fingers.

The trailer itself is basic horror stuff. Introduce the characters, introduce their issue, and then get on with showcasing what is, for lack of a better set of words, this franchise’s money shots: the kills. Be it by a collapsing bridge, a screw on a balance beam, or, my personal favorite, acupuncture accident, FINAL DESTINATION 5 looks to make good on the one thing that this franchise has done well, and that is creating really entertaining death setpieces.

This is still a hard film to get all that excited for. The franchise itself has seemingly run its course over the past couple of entries, and despite having names like Tony Todd attached to this film, it’s still hard to get all that enthused. Hopefully, this one will at least be entertaining.

I can’t help but think “Five-nal Destination” is a missed opportunity

Umm… This looks like a return to form for one of my favorite silly horror franchises. The downhill slide began with 3 which was still fun to watch despite its unrelenting hate for its characters. Couldn’t stand the 4th one. I just want this series back on track and to not take itself so seriously and I’ll watch a new one every year!
