New trailer for Gus Van Sant’s RESTLESS hits
Gus Van Sant’s RESTLESS premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, opening the Un Certain Regard portion of the famous fest. Set to hit U.S. theaters this September, a new trailer for the indie drama has just arrived.
While reaction to the film at Cannes wasn’t quite positive, this new trailer, which can be seen after the break, is certainly promising. The film’s plot is one that’s very off-putting on paper, potentially even more so when the time comes for teasers and trailers. However, the trailer does an excellent job at selling the strange plot.
More than anything else, though, it’s a showcase for the seemingly terrific leading performances of Henry Hopper and Mia Wasikowska as eccentric youths falling in love. We also get some nice moments of dark comedy and drama.
