New trailer for SALT
The second trailer for SALT has been released for your April Fool's Day viewing pleasure and it feels like some sort of bad joke. In it we see Angelina Jolie sporting a brassy blonde wig, scaling walls, and doing a lot of other superhuman type stuff.
SALT sees Jolie as Evelyn Salt, a CIA agent, who is accused of being a Russian spy plotting to assassinate the president. Salt goes on the run, trying to find her husband and prove her innocence which only leads to further casting doubt on her identity.
The new trailer promises the film will be heavy on the action and the sex. Jolie took over the role from Tom Cruise, who reportedly dropped out because he thought the character was too similar to his MISSION IMPOSSIBLE role. Perhaps Cruise got wind of what a stinker this one appears to be despite the all star cast which includes Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
The film appears to have some cool action moments but I feel like the trailer has given us all we can expect to get out of this one. There was a time when action films had believeable action sequences, but that time is long gone I suppose.

SALT hits theaters on July 23.
