paramount reveal official synopsis for super 8

Oh, dammit. Just, gosh darn it to Hell. Here I am, not wanting to watch anything related to JJ Abrams' upcoming SUPER 8, and the Internet has to go and pee its collective pants over the film's new trailer. I wanted to see it fresh, you guys! Fresh! But, alas, it's not to be, and so I must watch and I must report on this awesomeohmygosh!!one111one!! trailer. For you. Only for you.

Since the project was announced, it's been shrouded in secrecy. But instead of wearing out its presumed audience with tiny shreds of info, Paramount has slowly released bigger and meatier pieces of marketing. Result? I'm more engaged with and excited by this project than ever. This new trailer smacks of classic Spielberg coming-of-age tale, and I couldn't be more pleased with it. We get to see just how that long talked-about train crash confirmed in the official synopsis happens, along with some of its bigger after-effects (both human-made and, well, maybe not so human-made). Check it out after the break!

SUPER 8 opens on June 11 (including in IMAX!).
