New trailer for THE SMURFS looks smurfing horrible
My childhood is totally getting smurfed right now. THE SMURFS, coming out in 3D (of course) on August 3 has just released its first full-length trailer and it looks pretty bad. Basically, if you like saying “smurf” instead of curse words, you’ll absolutely love this film. If that’s not your cup of tea, then I can’t think of a reason to see it.

THE SMURFS stars Neil Patrick Harris and Jayma Mays as the humans who make contact with the Smurfs. Hank Azaria plays the ridiculously over-the-top Gargamel, which was actually the only part in this trailer that made me laugh, and Katy Perry makes her voice acting debut as the flirty Smurfette.
Despite my distaste for the humor, if ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS is any indication, this is going to make some serious bank. Smurf that.
