Nina Dobrev

I have not watched the TV show The Vampire Diaries, but I am with the world (barely) enough to know that it is pretty popular at the moment. I understand that it is a vampire drama more for the ladies( a trend that is definitely in), so the show doing well makes sense. So does the fact that one of the show's stars has just lined up another job along with her TV gig. That's what happens when you're a part of something that is hot.

Nina Dobrev plays the lead on The Vampire Diaries and she has now signed onto DEATHGAMES according to The Hollywood Reporter. It is not surprising from the title that DEATHGAMES falls under the film category of action. Although, the title is maybe too straightforward, it sounds like a made up film that you hear characters in a movie or TV show talking about seeing - a total FACE PUNCH (yes, I have seen NEW MOON as it turns out). Kellan Lutz of THE TWILIGHT SAGA and Samuel L. Jackson are attached to play major parts in DEATHGAMES, and Dobrev will play the wife of Lutz's characters.

DEATHGAMES sounds like it has a lot in common with THE RUNNING MAN, DEATH RACE, and other movies along that line:

"The story centers on a young man (Lutz) who is kidnapped and forced into the savage world of a modern gladiator arena, where men fight to the death for entertainment of the online masses in games orchestrated by Jackson."

Lutz and Dobrev are going to be in the same movie. Vampire drama worlds are colliding! I guess that is allowed, right?
