Noam Murro to direct DIE HARD 5
Well, that was quick.
Earlier today, it was revealed that directors were being sought after to helm the much talked about fifth film in the iconic DIE HARD franchise, and apparently, they have found their man. Deadline is reporting that Noam Murro will helm DIE HARD 5 for Fox.
Apparently, early reports said that the studio was not at all fond of the recent drafts of the film’s screenplay, penned by A-TEAM scribe Skip Woods. That may be the case, but it appears as though the studio is going the route of Murro, when the same report said that SNABBA CASH helmer Daniel Espinosa was at the top of the list.
Murro, best known for the film SMART PEOPLE, was looking to helm the studio’s long talked about HALO film adaptation, but while that doesn’t appear to be moving anywhere, we can now go to bed easy this night, knowing that DIE HARD 5 has a director. Or maybe uneasy, because honestly, I don’t think this is the best choice on the planet.
I really dig the idea of knowing that Murro has found buzz behind his now apparently failed take on HALO, but when looking at his previous pieces, he doesn’t seem like the strongest name. Then again, this doesn’t seem to be the strongest franchise either.
