Official trailer for THOR

This may shock some of you, but I don’t know much about Thor. I know he has a hammer. I know he is blond. I know he is an Avenger. And that is where my knowledge stops. I do, however, know a bit about THOR. I know it’s directed by Kenneth Branagh (I know, right!?), and I know it stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and Anthony Hopkins. I know the film was teased at the end of IRON MAN 2. I know that it will be an important entry into the Avengers film canon, and a big piece leading up to THE AVENGERS.

I have now learned more about THOR from this first official trailer. Thor is strong! Really strong! And angry! And that hammer can do some damage! And there’s a damn bit more of mythological and magical intrigue in THOR than we’ve been getting with IRON MAN. It’s clear how little I know about comic books by now, right? I imagine Thor and Marvel fans alike will get a lot more out of this trailer, however. Check out the trailer for THOR after the break!

THOR opens on May 20, 2011.
